ABOUT ME

My name is Felicia and I’m a full-time mama of 2 beautiful children, Photographer and Manager at Yard Gear. You can always find me surrounded by my wonderful family, Mudding in the back roads of Stanley, cuddled up on the couch with my man or working with the amazing team at Yard Gear.

My love for photography started when I was a kid. It started when my dad bought me my first Polaroid –Zone Pocket Instant Camera. My dad had to buy me so much film that he went and bought me my first Kodak Easyshare C743 Digital Camera and a normal Nikon AF Film Camera from there I started exploring the world through the lens of a camera. I was so fascinated with macro photography making small objects to make them look life-sized. I mostly took pictures of flowers or insects. When I entered High School, I got my first professional camera Canon Rebel XS. Now this is where it got exciting! I was part of the year book taking pictures of friends and going to sports games. This is when I discovered my love for action shots and convinced my dad I needed a lens Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 DC Zoom Lens. I started to do photo shoots after school and weekends for families, Grads, Sports and even my first wedding! This is when I knew what I wanted to do when I graduated. For graduation my Dad bought me a new Canon Rebel T3i, 50mm lens and a Canon Camera bag. My dad is my biggest supporter and my hero.

Side note about me. I still have every camera I’ve owned and many many more! I currently have 51 cameras in my collection from yard sales or gifts and each are on display in my home. This isn’t including all the other camera items I’ve collected over the years.

I Graduated from NBCCD in 2012 for Foundation Visual Arts and again in 2014 with a Degree in Photography. I am constantly inspired by art and observation. I love taking on new projects and challenging myself more each time, taking on things that are sometimes outside of my comfort zone to gain knowledge and experience.  I have experience in many areas of photography from commercial, advertising, weddings, graduation and prom, children, Pets, professional sports, events, bands, families, you name it. Even though I don’t JUST do photography now it is still a huge passion of mine.

I’ve made it my life’s goal to always be as creative as possible towards everything I endeavor.

In part of photography, I never focus on any preferred photography style, as I do not want to frame myself with specific kind of photo shooting and be more loyal to my own feeling. When I am clear with myself, the outcome is always marvelous.

XX Felicia
